Not Another Swim Blog

Wow. What a week the swimming competition in Beijing was. With so much excitement, swimming had its eight days of fame and will most likely be thrust back into obscurity until 2012. Sure there will be the occasional article in a national newspaper about a world record, gold medal, or some controversy surrounding Amanda Beard. ANYWAYS, I guess what I'm trying to say is that swimming is awesome, the Olympics were amazing, and swimmers are one of a kind.

I'll be blogging for a while (weeks? months? years??) about anything swimming related. Mostly my opinions, reactions, thoughts about different swimmers, meets, events, news, etc. I'm not saying you agree with me, but I think it's important to see what other people think and know what's going on. I don't really know what I'm doing, so things may be random at times, but it's all good. I love swimming, and hope that I can share that with anyone who is bored enough to read my blog.

A little about myself. I'm Tim, but I also go by TimTheSwimmer or TIMMAYYYYY. I am indeed a swimmer myself, swimming on my high school team and year round on a club team. I started following swimming with the Athens Olympics and then got sucked into the sport, following meets, browsing forums, and chatting with other swim fans. Throughout the past few years I have met many great people who are passionate about swimming, and I think that this will be a good way for a bunch of people to talk about the sport that brings us together.

So far, the future attractions include my thoughts about the Olympics (I know it's old news, but seriously swimming is dead for the next few months!) and who knows what other newsworthy events will happen in the near future. I think that's it for now, so...bye!

-Tim
