After the latest round of records and times wiped away by a short pool, I couldn't help but ask WHY??

Last summer, Spin Beck wuzrobbed of a WR (which she probably would have had even if the pool was of lengeth) in the 50m breastsroke because the adjustable bulkheads were not in place, so the pool was an inch or so short of 50m. And now, an NCAA record in the 50yd freestyle was nullified because of the same problem.

So the question is WHY?? Is it a malfunction or is the pool designed this way? Why was nothing done to fix this problem after it happened the first time? It's completely unfair to having swimmers' times not count because of an inch of pool. My major concern is whether they will have the problem corrected for NCAA Championships in March. Jump on it Aggies!!
