Season 5

So far 2 episdosodes have aired on Season 5 of Project Runway. I am super excited to see Tim Gunn again but it seems to be repeating. The first challenge was to make an outfit using items bought at a grocery store. Most of the designers used table cloths and non of the outfits were like wow. My favorite was the blue cup dress made by Daniel. He literaly ironed and clued a ton of blue plastic cups to a manican and it was shiny and amazing. The designer that lost was Jerry. His model really did look like it… more »

AUSSI Masters

After partying a little too hard on the east coast in Oz, I'm now working in Perth and attempting(!) to get back into some kind of shape (before I go back and party again!) I started off with a few sessions at the local pool on my own, trying to do 3km and not collapse in the process. I met a guy and girl from Ireland training in the next lane to me and they soon invited me to join their session and recruited me to the local masters team. They're in a similar place to me, they swam at… more »

Dara Torres and STEROIDS?!?!?!

Vinny Fiamengo | Profile

Okay. I can see how there is some skepticism in swimming about steroids. It happens in most sports these days. But, Torres is 41 years old! I'm no expert, but from what I know about steroids, her body would fall apart faster than the Lakers lost the championship (sadly). She is an amazing athlete (most swimmers are), and she works just as hard, if not harder, than the other olympians. How bogus are these thoughts of Torres being on the juice? more »

Make Your Reservations For 2012....

After much consideration, and returning from fantasy swimming central in Omaha, Nebraksa, I have decided it is time to create a blog. My swimming days started as a youngster in Ann Arbor, Michigan through Pioneer High School, then on to Brown University. Being one with no fast twitch fibers, my events consisted of the painful ones- the 500, 1650 and 200 Fly. Not necessarily fun, but if you are going to swim, you might as well really swim. At present I remain involved in swimming as a Masters Swimmer with Dougboy Aquatics in Birmingham, Michigan. While I was happy with… more »

Ban on LD athletes in the UK......please help.

Mark Thomas | Profile
July 2, 2008

The ban on learning disabilities has had a serous effect on athletes with a learning disability. This includes a reduction in events they can compete in , in this country and the funding that is attached to a elite athletes performance. They cannot compete in British championships or the UK schools games. This ban has been placed on these athletes and is unlawful and they should have the same rights to compete in these events just as there fellow disability peers with physical or visual disabilities. We are not asking for much but to give these athletes the same rights… more »

Life's Winding Road

I've got to be honest, I am rather sick of a lot of what is happening lately. There is far too much "drama" over stupid stuff. A lot of people are acting like idiots (including myself). I'm just really sick of this. I wish I had the *courage* to take matters into my own hands. It's important to make the best of what time we have, but I'm not doing that, and I really doubt I'm even going to any time soon...I need to stop worrying so much about what other people think. I'm reading "Wuthering Heights", and am over… more »
