After a successful collegiate career under long-time coach Brooks Teal at North Carolina State, where Cullen claimed 7 ACC titles, 3 All American honors, and was the 2006 NCAA Champion in the 50 free, Jones set his sites to the international stage.
It's a platform that has brought the best out of him. Probably the most notable international performance for Cullen was as a member of the World Record Setting 4x100 meter free relay at The 2006 Pan-Pacific Championships. But Cullen has won 6 other international medals (3 individual) at events like The 2007 World Championships in Melbourne where he touched second in the 50 free and added another Gold Medal as a member of that same 4x100 Free Relay.
