Beisel, Pelton, Sutton, Knutson, Carlson, Gemmell, Ryan, Fabian. Possibly more tonight. Seems like a bunch to me. And PS, Gemmell and Ryan both are HS guys going to Rome.

i feel so lost with out floswim and G doing his thing during WCT's. I looked at a few other sites message boards and its just a bunch of people saying how they are the lords of swim knowledge. I keep coming back here hoping things are fixed. im like a little kid looking for my lost puppy. son of a!!!

what are you talking about "bunch of other hs kids". there's beisel, pelton, sutton, and knutson. that's not a bunch. and so obviously you dont kno what a year carlson has had. national hs record, 2nd at santa clara-only behind leisel jones and then considering the field of the A final, beating out hehn and jendrick. and all before her senior year of highschool. please give credit where credit is due....

Really, reread the post. it is an impressive feet looking at the shift in ages of most of the swimmers making the WC team. If you can think of a bunch, name them because that list is pretty short. And i can't think of one guy who has punched his ticket individually as is a HSer.

alright, there has been some fantastic swimming by biesel, and i think it's pelton - these young girls are definitely studettes, but again neither msnbc nor floswimming has given any props to the girl who finished second to soni in the 100 breast - casey carlson. she's 17 and shes going to rome. come on people spread the kodos around. by the way, a huge hat off to mr ryan lochte, just a couple tenths off phelps world record in the 400im. this guy is bad to the bone.

swim off on saturday and if CJ doesn't win he is not going to Rome............................

Phelps is going to swim the 100 free no matter what in the relay he does a 47.5 so that makes adrian, gwg dave, grevers as the 5th man

the guy below me has it figured out. it is very clear to see that phelps is scared of being overtaken by these suits. i know he has made a lot of money off of speedo over the years but he has to be very disappointed by the mediocre product they are forcing him to wear. oh well, that's still no excuse to pull out of a race like a scared little girl...

Phelps....   July 10, 2009 at 10:30am
lets face it. we all know phelps withdrew from that race because of the all mighty "Jaked" he was too close to getting beat in too many events this weekend and as you could see from the 200 fly, he was pissed off by it. so why would he swim the 100 free and risk getting beat by 3 or 4 guys wearing Jakeds? That wouldnt make for good news on ESPN. Instead he has reported a sore neck and also said he wasnt even planning on swimming the event in Rome. Put the pieces together people.

I would agree with the point made below....how much experience does bowman have training women. as someone who swam for NBAC when bowman was there, he had only one pupil, Michael. I think she is paying a huge price for going pro...best bet go off to college get more experience in a completely different setting. worked for Volmer.

I call what Hoff has "shell-shock". This time last year, not only were we expecting her to win a couple of olympic gold medals, but she expected it too (find a few of her post 200IM finals at trials and you'll see what I mean). She gets shocked in Beijing and drops her biggest disappointments. The 200 and 400 free used to be her fun "fallback" events. Now that those are her only events, well, I bet they're no so fun. She's still an amazing athlete, but I hope she's getting some help from a team of sports psychologists. It's amazing how the human body can feel sick because of nerves or lack of self confidence.

Good But Should Be Better   July 8, 2009 at 10:42am
Gangloff's swim was good, but think about it, hansens record was done outdoors in a jammer, Mark had a full body Jaked on, i think breaking the record by only .12 shows that suits had a lot to do with that specific time

Question about events not swam in Indianapolis but on the schedule in Rome:

Do the swimmers that qualify for the 100m individual events automatically qualify for the 50m event? For example, do Gangloff and Shanteau not only qualify for the 100 breast, but the 50 breast as well? What about the men's 800 and women's 1500 free? How are those places determined?
