He is a 10 time Big 12 Conference Champion, 6 time All American (before NCAAs this year) and he's got another year to add to his impressive highlight reel.
It's the fastest short course yards meet on the planet, and don't be surprised if the 2008 version is the fastest in history. The reason this meet is so incredible? The Team Championship.
And it'll be a great fight for that title this year. Can the defending champs from Auburn pull it off again? If they do they will become only the second team in history to win 6 NCAA Team Titles in a row. The boys from Texas are poised to make a run at it. It would be an amazing 10th title for Texas Head Coach Eddie Reese and after spending most of the season next to that number one ranking, the 'horns made a statement a month ago at their conference meet by obliterating the American Record in the 800 Free Relay. And then there's the Arizona Wildcats. Having finished in the top three each of the past 3 seasons and being a top 10 team for the last decade, their lineup is stacked coming into the meet. Would it surprise anyone if the Wildcats pull off a championship on the heels of Arizona's Women winning the title just one week ago? Don't count out the blue and gold (or some form of yellow) teams from Michigan and Cal either. Both teams have the pieces in place to be in the running.
It's gonna be a battle...
And floswimming will be on deck getting reactions from coaches and
swimmers all weekend long. So stay tuned. The psyche sheet is here.
