Good to listen in on some of these interviews again AFTER the Olympics to find out what works...

Before watching this interview and reading articles about him at trials, I never really had an opinion about this guy, but after learning about his training philosophy, I have so much respect for him. When I heard Lezak had been coaching himself, I was amazed. I completely agree with the short course philosophy. It allows the swimmer to train with more efficient technique. I feel like my technique falls apart during longcourse training and I hate training bad technique. This guy is the man! Good luck at the Olympics!

Totally buy into his high quality - recovery training philosophy for a lot of pure sprinters - and older athletes in all events.
Also consider the LC vs SC point Jason makes in regard to rest and loss of speed.
A good mix of the two courses in the Summer season seems to be the way to keep the speed and strength off the walls and not break down the athlete.

yeah, he is awesome. sprinters seem to be swimming longer and longer these days. Jason, Gary Hall Jr, etc. are still rockin.
