One of the world's premier distance swimmers, Larsen is the American record holder in the 800m and 1500m freestyle.
At the Athens Olympics in 2004 he earned a silver in the 1500m and finished just out of the medals in the 400 with a 4th place finish.
The next year at the World Championships in Montreal Larsen earned 2 silvers (800 and 1500 freestyle), and at the Short Course World Championships in 2006 he tallied another international medal, this time bronze in the 800m free relay.
During his college career at University of Southern California he earned an NCAA title in the 1650, was a multiple time All-American, and is the school record holder in the 800m, 1500m, and 1000y freestyles.

ELLIE! your stupid and a creep, your a "BEEP" I HATE YOU
Larsen rocks. I think people forget that most of his interviews are done when he is celebrating or is pumping adrenaline. He has an edge, but that is part of what makes him interesting. He doesn't throw out as many prefabricated answers as many of his teammates. That can be a good thing or a bad thing... Good luck, Larsen. FIGHT ON!
This guy reeks of insincerity. I don't buy a word he says when he's trying to be complimentary and/or humble. He showed his true colors long ago with that trash talk about Grant Hackett. Not to mention the obnoxious interview he did at Trials.
Does anyone else think that this video really should have been called... "From Beijing to Bean, and everything in between." in order for the rhyming to continue.
Larsen is a vet on this team of Olympians. So listen up rookies: this guy has some good advice about race strategy, training with competitors, and goals for American dominance in Beijing. Oh yeah and he tells you who the best and worst bean players are on this Olympic team. July 17, 2008
