I don't swim for KING, but I swim for another team in the Seattle area. I'm not being stuck up, I'm providing information. If you don't like your pool, switch teams. I train in a 6-lane 25 yard pool too, thats pretty much the standard size if you weren't aware. And the nearest 50m pool is about a 40 min drive (mostly freeway) from my house. So its not like your situation is so bad. And if you only have 2 swimmers close to AG top rankings, maybe you should try working harder.
You should be grateful that you are able to swim in such a fantastic facility. Where I currently live, I practice in a pool that was built in the 1940's 6 lane 25 yard pool. We currently have two swimmers that are close (top 25) to the age group top rankings. We do not have access to a 50 meter pool within a 30 mile radius. Please try not to be stuck up next time...

what does that mean? nothing has happened since the Olympics.
besides, 5 months before the Olympics is pushing it. give coach marsh and swimmac some of the credit surrounding Margaret's great summer by the way. it was 7 years with one coach, 4 months with another.

sounds like he keeps the kids engaged in the workout. when they're thinking about how they're swimming and what they're doing the yardage doesn't seem as monotonous.
true, you don't have to swim mindless yardage to swim fast...at sprints. If you want to do 400+ events or even 200s with a solid back half you have to be doing some yards
You mean you don't have to swim mindless yardage to get fast? Sean, you tha man! Good Video Garrett, keep putting up the top teams as much as you can. We all get better.
The answer DM is yes - if you every have the opportunity to visit Sean which I do recommend to everyone you will see a lot of little things he does that makes a difference - the way that he actually teaches in each set is one of the qualities that sets him apart.
I stopped by KING Aquatic Club on a Monday Afternoon in April. This is the set they did after warmup. Sean explains his approach to underwater technique, as well as swimming fast in small spurts. April 14, 2009

Yardage is great.
Mindless yardage is not.
