Jen, be nice! Maybe it's a hidden subtle pun or metaphor that we can't understand!
Oh Ms. Wedgie...you will be getting one today at practice. Just kidding ;) It probably is something we can't understand since we are doing loads of math for our majors and have no time for silly grammar anymore :P

Adam Klein has perfected this start... Look out for him in the upcoming years, he is a huge asset to USA swimming!

He trains like an Ox. I have personnaly seen his weight routine and omg, its intense. If you lift like him, then you will make it far in your career

The Progression:
1. Standing Jump (no arm swing)
2. Standing Jump (arm swing from 1950 style start)
3. Sailor Dive (arms stay at side)
4. Dive 1950 (swing arms)
5. Dive Streamline start
6. IRONMAN = according to Garrett and Black Sabbath
7. The perfect dive (hopefully)
* we did this with tape over goggles this morning - no site makes murray focus!

this looks dumb, i don't see the fastest 50 freestylers doing this
I don't see swimmers doing breast with a dolphin kick or catch up on freestyle.....O, I forget, it's because it's a drill. It's to practice starts if you haven't figured it out.

I think i remember the article about this at some point. Makes me want to give it a go. I have a hunch I'd somehow jump off to the side and get hurt lol.

i think it is legs and arms first, then when the body is off the blocks the head can extend for extra height.

I saw that in a swimming world magazine about 5 years ago. It was China I believe. It was like a slingshot type dive.

The Utah start progression is almost complete. At this stage of the season Coach Winslow has them enter the water using one arm to generate momentum. Similar to a defensive end does in football.
