They had best play bean at some point during the movie! Bean is an essential element of swim practice; players show their skill and experience by slyly passing the bean without alerting the coaching staff that there is something else going on at practice other than a 4000 yard Red pace set.
Mr. Kubacki: You are swimming the 50?! If you beat Jack he will be retiring immediately. (I lost by 2 tenths)
you got lucky Jack
Ha I don't know about that, but I am lucky to have been a part of the making of this film. Scott and the friends I met during filming are awesome and I could not have asked for a better experience. I hope everyone is as excited to see the finished product as I am.
Eric Teske said: I'm so glad the story line explains why they're swimming in dramatic, dim lighting. Other movies show people swimming in the dark (SwimFan) for NO reason. Solution, energy crisis, now I can sit back and enjoy the cool visuals without being distracted thinking about why teams would practice with the lights off.
I agree... i was starting to think everyone in hollywood thought swimmers just didn't like light. Of course, I have to wonder how they got away with keeping the filtration system running if the energy crisis was so bad that lights weren't an option.
TOPPING POINT follows American swimmer Adam Rand as he fights for his chance to compete in the Olympic Games. He's only a few months out from fulfilling his dream when a sudden disruption in the supply of Mid East oil sends the US economy into a second Great Depression. Food shortages and a lack of electricity make training nearly impossible, and rising tensions between the West and East threaten to preempt the Games with a massive World War.
Fearing the consequences any conflict could bring to his home and family, a Middle Eastern oil billionaire, Ansari, decides to funnel his money into keeping the Games on schedule and, under the guise of another company, sponsors Adam's Olympic efforts. Ansari hopes that Adam's story will inspire a nation to rise from its economic setback and come back stronger‚ as long as the source of Adam's funding is kept secret.

I hope they play the bean game at some point during the movie.
Is Jack gonna play Adam Rand in the full-length feature film as well as the short film / teaser?

the lighting is a pretty cool effect!
So what is the point of the movie? Yeah, they use real swimmers, but what are they swimming for? Training for what?
