man Bousquet is a nice guy but Craig lord is soo right !!

With his new training, with his new confidece, with whatevernew he has in him he would have gone 21'50 something with a FS-Pro, even maybe omething like 21'30 if it was the swim of his life !! but COME ON 20'94 !! it's faster than my goldfish !!! :D :D
suits ARE helping the times , if nt why are they using them in the first place ????
it helps you stay in streamline, compact your muscle , ... THUS it HELPS !!
Pure and SIMPLE !! that is the only thing craig lord said !!! that suits made fred go 20'94 , ad without a miracle suit ( LZR included) he would have gone 21'50 or somethg like that which would have been a WR if it was not for miracle suit ;)
SO YES DEFENITELY YES FREd is a great swimmer, but not a swimmer capable of 20'94 in 50 free with BRIEFS or even FSPRO full body suit.
TO be honest I don't think somebody is capable of that !!!
otherise why would it be only fom february 2008 ( the day they launch the LZR) no later no ealier that swimmers started SMASHING records !!!
COME ON SUITS HELPS !! ADMIT it and craig lord will congrats you ;) that's all he said he never insulted fred he insulted his "I don't wanna see the truth point of view"

Fast Is Fast   May 19, 2009 at 10:10am
Seems like a nice guy. Let's not blame the athletes for doing everthing in their power to succeed. How about looking at fina. They were not very proactive with their decision on the suits, and now there is controversy. Fina needs to strongly declare where they stand on this issue. Then coaches and athletes need to accept it and move forward. There is just too much confusion on what is legal and what's going to be legal and this creates confusion and stress for athletes and coaches. I would hate to be an athlete today and wonder if someone was wearing a suit that was faster than mine.

Ignorance   May 19, 2009 at 12:40am
I think discounting the suits is ignorance. You have to be a complete idiot to really believe all the improvements weve seen in the past year or so have been due to improvements in training. Can improvements in training improve the general speed of the sport? Yes. Can they in one year? Absolutely not. Swimmers kind of contradict themselves when they speak about how the suits "keep their hips up," etc. Would your body do that in its natural, nude, position in the water? No. So is it cheating when you can simply slide a suit on to accomplish this body position? Absolutely. It almost makes me feel bad for people that swam even just 5 years ago. Get rid of them.

Jack Kubacki   May 19, 2009 at 12:39am
It's interesting to hear how he feels before a 50 in comparison to a 100. I guess there really isn't anyone out there that can sprint an entire 100 all out. I think this insight is a good lesson for sprinters that going for it is not necessarily the best answer, but swimming a smart race is.
