Ben Wildman-Tobriner is our best interviewer for Team USA. The guy is just so intelligent and well-spoken. There is definitely a calm about Leisel now that she didn't have before. The pressure is off, and she's swimming so fast because she's having fun. Great interview.
She's always been well poised in interviews, but especially so in recent years as she's gotten the monkeys off her back. Today, she speaks with the confidence of an Olympic champion. Well done.
I totally agree...She's one of the class individuals in Australian swimming. And I totally agree with the fact that they are much more trained to handle the media compared to Americans...I mean she's wearing her team t-shirt with the Telstra logo straight on the chest...I mean good advertising work right there!
I happen to think Brendan Hansen gives good interviews...forgot about that guy

Forgot him, sorry. He has to be the most chill swimmer (except maybe lochte). He seems like a great guy.

Don't use Phelps as a measuring stick for public speaking/interviews. Mel Stewart is a great speaker, as are Kaitlin Sandeno, Garrett Weber-Gale, and Matt Grevers. Some of the Nick D'Innocenzo (and other) interviews from Jrs are better than Phelps interviews.
you can tell that swimming is a big sport there by the kind of media training their athletes have. this interview is way better than any interview any american swimmer has given. even our hero michael phelps has a hard time giving a good interview. this is something the US should focus on if they are planning on going big with the sport.
