crap!!! that sounds like a lot of work!!! my team is doing some winter training, and my coach says they are foususing on finding Navy Seals, i m a lil' scared now, but what this guy is saying is true, at least for me cause i had to do a 500 on friday and my group doesnt really do that but acutlly when i let my mind go blank it was SOOOOO EASY!!!! ps, seal27, thanks for keeping our country safe, i dont know if u will read this but hey, what the heck,

I've been through BUDS training and was a SEAL from 1970-1973. My son was a SEAL from 1990-1999. There is nothing easy about SEAL Training. Try swimming six nautical miles in 60 degree water through kelp beds in shark infested water against the current. And doing it after a 4 mile run in boots. That is a small sample of what SEAL trainees do. When you get a TRIDENT and are a designated US NAVY SEAL then you have the right to comment about how easy training to be a SEAL Warrior is.
I respect seals and appreciate everything they do, but why does flo swimming have so many seal videos recently? I just thought this was a swimming web site. Again, I respect everything that the seals do.
i hope your kidding, im a swimmer as well, but seals training and their job is so much more difficult than swimming. yeah you gotta do doubles and make yourself do the work while sacrificing so much of your social life, but putting your life on the line and the buds training which includes that hell week of no more than 4hrs sleep isnt nearly as pleasant as swimming. when sets get tough my coach always tells us that we've got it easy compared to those in the armed forces.
it's naive to think the SEALs have protected EVERY country in the world. many, yes. but the SEALs always act in OUR interest, which sometimes conflicts with the benefits of other countries. and yes, the US provides some measure of global stability. but the bottom line is that if the US wasn't strong enough to provide that stability or didn't care enough to ensure that stability, then someone else would work to that end for their own benefit (probably the USSR, because it would then still exist.) In any case, we don't need to be arguing political science. This interview is great, but it should be featured on
Floswimming during a slow news period, since this is soft news/ human interest, and there is lots of hard news (WUGs, various World Champ Trials) to be reported on. This shows how little the Floreanis know about journalism, despite the knowledge that others claim in their entrpreneurial nature.

Prove my point, I have nothing against the Seals. The video was posted at the wrong time. Remember this is a swimming website. Visitors like to watch relevant swimming stuff especially during times prior to world champs.
It is very obvious what kind of person you are: unappreciative one. The Floreani's created flocast and and floswimming.org. Without it, Garrett may have been working for some other platform and buried under layers of bureaucracy of larger organization. Obviously, we all love Garrett and his reports. But don't forget, the Floreani's saw Garrett's talent and his potential before he became a hit on this site. The result of the Floreani's venture with Garrett is what we enjoyed in the past two years. The good came from both parties. Unfortunately for us, they parted. It is a free country, people can do whatever they want to do with their property. At the same time, Garrett now made a name for himself and can go places since he has a lot of followers. Garrett should be thanked for his work and talent and the Floreani's should be thanked for their vision and venturous spirit in creating this site. They took a risk to invest time and money create this site and obviously a lot of people enjoyed this site for what it offered.
Now they parted, follow whoever you like. You don't need to come here and keeping putting negative comments. It is like you invited yourself to a party and complaining the party sucks. If you don't like the party, go away. Don't spoil the party for everyone else. Other people still enjoy the party. Then again, you showed you are too mean-spirited to show gratidue to the host for offering "free" stuff to you even if you may not like it.
For the seal contribution, if you pay any attention to global stability at all, then you would know that the stability of U.S. directly tied in with the global stability. Without this global stability, the rogue countries would be shooting nuclear weapons to others or among them. Don't think any one on this planet can get away from the polution after the effect. Then again, you need to be well-read and mature and experienced to be able to appreciate it. I guess it is too much to ask of you since you have shown that you are an unappreciative sorry person. You used the platform to insult the creaters of the platfrom and seal. Your "who cares" posting was directed at the creaters of the site AND the content provided by them. My comments never insulted the Navy Seals. The timing of such a video is poor. I simply pointed out that this video is generally not what the swimming community wants to see at this exciting time. Obviously, we want coverage of American and/or Canadian World Championship Trials . Stop trying to be offended when you have no reason to be. That's no way to go through life, son.
