I don't know a lot
But I do know a thing --
that's if I lived in Wash
I'd surely swim for King!
I like these type of sets. I like getting out and doing press-ups and stuff in between swims it breaks up the scheme of relentless swimming length after length. Its tiring but it makes you feel more stronger in the water.
Oh just a thought on what Sean Does about adding resistance he said in one video... I find when I use ankle weights while flutter kicking I have an easy time getting rid of wiggly hips and my core becomes very solid. As well as a solid Core during my pulls when I have 1lb weights in my hands. Very smart workout though! I'm going to try this stuff with a group of kids I get to sub-coach for tomorrow morning! Hope some of these ideas help them realize what they are capable of!
I like how he focuses a lot more on quality than quantity like a lot or more traditional coaches. I believe that when you just do yards and more yards at a point your stroke breaks down and its not doing you any good to swim like crap.
I really like his talk about keeping a tight core while the swimmers are kicking. The idea of producing more force while maintaining a tighter core position...(no movement) really makes sense! I tell my kids the same thing while we kick with a board.... "Too much movement"
Ok, I've been pretty good about releasing a workout a week so I figure for the sake of alliteration I should start doing a Weekly Wednesday Workout. What do you think?
