I took a trip to VT and saw some of the interesting ways they train. They do some weird stuff even when they warm up. It was cool. The best part was having Bradin explain why they do things and to actually see it in action. They said this was on this site and I finally found this set. Fun.
this training is sweet! I do know that in addition to this very interesting and fun stuff, they have the very tough meat and potatoes workouts. They always have a good mix of training.
When I swam in college Virginia Tech was not a competitive team for ACC standards, but now they seem to be an all-around team that can scare top teams.
What has been the emergence for them? From what I know, they still have a poor facility.
From what I know, Eddie has not been at VT for quite a while. He helped mold a different approach to sprinting and VT has since expanded that way of life even more. There is a big change in VT sprinting now compared to when Eddie was there. Keep up the good work Hokies!
workout is based on the works of Eddie Lovell ex-assistant coach of h2okie sprinters based on his experience as an all-american 2-free relay participant for U of Hawaii. I like what Braden has done with it though.
they are getting better every year and i think they will compete for ACC title in a couple years. their sprinters have always been strong but are now gaining depth and talent in the distance frees. look out for the h2okies.
Keeping training interesting has to be a good thing. I love the "out of pool" aspects that so many coaches on your website are advocating. I wish they had more when I was actively training.
It seems like more and more coaches are combining dryland with sprint practice in the pool. Braden Holloway has his own version of outside the box training. From the track to the pool, it's all about keeping the sprinters interested.

Ok, I've been pretty good about releasing a workout a week so I figure for the sake of alliteration I should start doing a Weekly Wednesday Workout. What do you think?
