David is arguably the most successfull college swimming coach in history. His 12 NCAA Swimming Championships is tied for 1st all time, and he is the only coach to head the men and women's NCAA championship team in the same year.
This season he is taking his NCAA and long list of international coaching accomplishments back to the club level. Some of his most successful swimmer's, Margaret Hoelzer and Mark Gangloff, followed their coach to Mecklenburg Aquatics in Charlotte North Carolina.
oh, "Coach" - I'm guessing that the lane lines were out because the bulkhead has been moved. they don't have a 25yd pool on either side of it, so the lane lines wouldn't fit. (I think!!)
It's so great to hear a prolific coach like David Marsh talk about the need for a decent amount of aerobic work in younger swimmers and then the lack of need to do masses of this with older guys and girls.
And, last time i checked, there's no upbringing that encourages you to look like an idiot. jammers don't offer any extra coverage in the "area" that counts. don't be silly. If you know Caleb the best, as you claim, but not the others as well, how would you know that he's the most mature. Again, hilarious.
to the guy who bashed caleb courage: you would have to know caleb to understand why he wears a jammer... and about him growing up: i swim for mac and since these guys came half a year ago, i have come to know caleb the best of all the team elites, and he is by far the most mature one there.
Marsh is brilliant. This is the truth the way and the light. If it hasn't been proven yet, when will the naysayers believe? The volumed based "sprint programs" out there will continue to crumble to the quality based programs... LONG LIVE SPEED!
I wonder how long the short part of the pool is they were using. 15 yards or so?
Interesting to see these guys swimming short course this close to Trials (yeah, I realize the video is at least a couple weeks old probably).
Ok, I've been pretty good about releasing a workout a week so I figure for the sake of alliteration I should start doing a Weekly Wednesday Workout. What do you think?
