He swam 2 years of high school and decided to take the sport a little more seriously after going to his HS State Championship on a relay as a junior. His senior year, he was a runner up at the Washington State Championships in the 50 Free.
After 5 years of collegiate swimming, he hung up the goggles as a national qualifier in both backstrokes and graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from The University of Missouri.
A few months after he graduated he started floswimming.org.

For the 41st year The George Haines International Swim Center welcomes some of the top swimmers in the world for The Santa Clara International Invitational. A handful of International swimmers who
have already punched their ticket to Beijing will battle against some of America's Olympic hopefuls.
