Johnnycakes, thanks for the comments. You have picked up on an issue I am working on in racing. My tempo on the first length (for the strokes you can see) ranged below 1.10, which is entirely too fast (in college I held .95 for a 55.62 100 Breast, spun the whole way). I then slow down coming into the wall. The tempo of my strokes on the first 4 strokes of the second twenty-five are much closer to my ideal tempo of 1.20-1.25 (however, I slow significantly going into the wall). In short, I over-swam the first 25. But rest assured, I am working on correcting my tempo. Are you a coach?

your stroke count was 6-7-7-9last one should have been 8. with a pullout from a dive i think you should be at 5 on the first 25. watch your 3rd stroke on the first 25, the first 2 your pretty relaxed, then you try to pick up your tempo i think too much.
