Jackson,

As a former teammate and current friend, I would like to commend you for your fast swimming in this video. However, if I was to ever see you flip like this again, I would disown any knowledge of your existence. On a side note, congratulations on being a big XII (3) champion.

Good set men

Not that I want to get in this petty argument, but I just want to make sure that one of the previous comments was not overlooked. When in a race, the momentum of the flip would carry you into the wall. Anyone doing 50s in practice and actually hitting their feet on the wall with momentum would be the one practicing poor technique. Come on guys, these are the best in the country at what they do, they are always in race mode.

Dear Jackson

Despite the fact that they are filthy delinquents, I agree with jordan and AJ. Your flipping at the 24 and 3/4ths yard mark is simply unacceptable. In fact, i bet its how you went a 4:13 tonight in your 500 at big 12s. Still, i feel that it is my duty to forgive you since im gonna be teammates with your goofy ass next year.
We're not mad, we just want a little more effort out of you. thats all.

Short Turns   February 25, 2009 at 8:55pm
How many times have you one armed a fly or breast turn in practice or had a lazy finish into a wall on a sprint or taken a breath out of a turn? Give me a break people - appreciate what is on this site for what it is showing. Do you lack that much confidence in yourself that you feel you have to pick apart this elite program? Go look in the mirror before you point the fingers. If you do everything perfectly all the time and go faster than these cats, then throw all you want. Otherwise, take your weak opinions somewhere else.

When I went to school ,Texas was aconic.
There was Peirsol,Crocker,and Hansen
at the same school at the same time. People
respected that talent so much and the man
behind them.We were in awe to see them at
meets,Texas will always be a target because
they are the best. Notice nobody cares about
the other schools, a tribute to an amazing
program.Thank you for taking us there
and so often.

i love how people come on floswimming and show their bitterness and jealousy. The top programs in the Nation are always taking heat for "showing off". Sorry that's just them showing their talent and dedication with a top notch coaching staff. People actually have to resort to nit pick their turns in practice just to be able to feel better about themselves. I'm assuming most of the haters don't belong to programs like Texas, Auburn, or Arizona so they feel the need to knock them down.
Its way lame to come here and dog swimmers like Klueh for not breaking a record and making juvenile comments about how their bodies look. If you don't want to watch anymore Texas sets then don't click the play button. You keep stayin' classy guys.

rookie mistake commenting on your own video. obviously a freshman move.

ps. missing the wall in a meet constitutes a disqualification. essentially meaning, you get last.

they wont be going back to Texas. NCAAs are in College Station. This makes you wrong on both accounts.

How much did they pay mcaffrey to show this set. I am tired of Texass always trying to showoff. Last year there was hype that klueh was gonna break the AR at ncaas, bummer, that didn't happen. Instead he's too busy scratching off fake lotto cards. Who cares that Texas can swim far. It's in the shorter races they need to work on. I'd like to see them do some 25s no breath on 15 or something useful. And how in the hell does this set give respect to UT swimming. Half the people didn't even finish the set. I wonder if they are rested! All this hype, definitely over rated. They were also looking pretty scrawny in the video. Maybe they should think about lifting a weight or two. I got a buddy that can show them a thing or two..

Listen to greg troys media interview the other night. He knows what he is talking about.

Scott Ehrmann   February 25, 2009 at 12:16pm
Even if they were in a race, they would still flip at the same spot. Their momentum just carries them into the wall. Walters' broken 200 shows this really well, it looks like he takes his last stroke at the flags.

The only reason they come up short is because they're not pushing off.

wow colt 45 sounds a little bitter... yeah they have their way of training... and its FAST. haha im not sure how you train but this seems to work for them and its pretty entertaining so if you think it sucks then dont watch it. and as for the flips, give me a break they are at most about a foot away from the wall its making less than a tenth difference stop nitpicking

8 x 50
then
3x:
4 x 50

#14
DM   February 25, 2009 at 11:18am
So the set is actually

4x:
1 x 300
8 x 50
then
3x:
4 x 50
Sick practice. You have to give it to distance guys they know how to train. This is a real quality set too. Love it

I am tired of seeing breakthrough practice performances. Quite frankly who cares. They have there way of training just like every other team in the nation. I agree with my boy texass, they seem to flip early. Keeping practicing the bad techniques.

This set sucks!

It actually ends up being 7 300s with 4 in the first set and 3 in the second. The explanation is a little confusing but watching the video makes it a little more clear.

They did the 300s with 4 50s and then did the 2nd round with 200s and 50s. I wish I could have included everyone but with all the different practices taking place its tough.
