Compared to when I swam Division 1 in the 1980s, it is incredible how much more innovative and on-target training techniques have become. Instead of pounding out 12K to 16K a day 6 days a week for 5 months and then resting for 2 weeks to see how that goes, coaches are now very thoughtful about swimming fast and not just training hard.

So basically CAL is just a satelite program for Auburn. I mean they do most of the same things just on a smaller scale.

the innovative stuff and dryland work is cool...can we get a few just straight sets of kids doin serious work and throwin down some fast times in practice. one of those first videos from texas is sick more stuff like that would be greatly appreciated.

This was Wednesday, October 29th at Cal. Mid-D is in the water doing a 3 station circuit. Head Coach David Durden is having one group step up for varied efforts in the 15 meter pool, while assistant Greg Meehan takes the guys through some kicking/swimming with chords and weights.
