Rohan is from Aussie, spent time growing up in San Jose, CA as his Dad was tranferred there for work, then moved back to Aussie and has set his place among their elite coaching leadership.

Super information given in a practical and easy to use format. For those coaches who do not believe in recovery, take note.

They're circle swimming counterclockwise. I've heard they do that in countries where they drive on the left side of the road. My coach makes us do that sometimes to keep our minds involved!

Wow both of those posts just wasted my time.

1) Thanks for stating the obvious Tristan.
2) Read before you post "Duuuh".

A + post

Doing the same workouts, is training head to head. you gotta think they probably weren't doing 400 efforts so they most likely trained head to head.
Another quality post from you Tristan Vowles.

Once again Garrett, you have done a great job. On swimnews.org the newest article mentions that Sullivan and Bernard are training together and did a one hour and a half sprint set a few days ago tunning up for the Paris Open. It would be awesome to see those guys train head-to-head.
From what I can tell they didnt actually train "head to head," in the sense that they weren't lined up side by side. Although I'm sure they felt some sort of increased pressure to do well.

Part of the Australian National Swim Team was in Tucson for some training and a tune up meet leading into Santa Clara. Unfortunately I caught them the day after the meet, so there wasn't a lot of action going on, but these coaches were awesome. Vince Raleigh. who coaches Patrick Murphy, Ashley Delaney, and Robert Hurley, showed us some drills. Leisel Jones's coach Rohan Taylor talked about the importance of heart rate during recovery days. And Michael Bohl, coach of Stephanie Rice, Meagan Nay, and Ryan Napolean, took us through a recovery set they were doing.
