Not to mention Josh Stern, who was Vendt's coach when he became the first US man under 15 min in the 1500. Then Vendt went to USC and was coached by Schubert. The only common denominator is Vendt!

eric vendt's coach was john urbanchek. bob bowman was the head coach of michigan, but john is the distance coach. bob bowman did great with michael phelps, 8 gold medals what can you say? but to coach phelps to that much gold takes away from the other swimmers, which is why john and bob make a great team

And the greatest swimmer of all time would have been the greatest of all time with plenty of other coaches due to his natural ability and amazing work ethic. 1 hit wonder dosen't make him sh**.

Look at Bowman's career minus Phelps. He was and has been unsuccessful EVERYWHERE he's been. He is without question the most overated coach ever.
ERIK VENDT?

Concentrating on the "process of success" not the "outcome" of the race. So simple but so powerfull. Candid insights like this coming from experts like Bob Bowman will make this site a must for swimmers.

awesome content. focusing on the outcomes screws with what your body already knows how to do.
