Coach Quick,
My prayers are with you and your family as you face this challenge.
You might remember my family from the early Dad's Club days. My dad, Bob Ogilvie, watched your career grow with pride. My brother, Bobby Ogilvie, sister Patty and me (Lori Jo) swam for you back in the mid '60's.

I have been praying for you Richard and will continue until you are 'out of the woods'. I have fond memories watching you on the deck at the Dad's Club when I was a swimmer back in the late 60's. May the Lord Jesus strengthen your faith and the faith of your family and friends as you read the following verses of scripture.
Romans 10
9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that (N)God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
10 with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
11 For the Scripture says, "WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED."
Mark 11
23 "Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.
24 "Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.
Proverbs 4
20 My son, give attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your sight;
Keep them in the midst of your heart.
22 For they are life to those who find them
And health to all their body.

James 5
14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;
15 and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.
16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

We are all connected by our passion and love of the sport of swimming and Coach Quick has had an immeasurable impact on the sport.

What is more important than that is the people he has touched through the sport and the positive impact he has had on many people's lives, this is truly his legacy, one which is far from complete.

Coach, as you can see, your influence goes far beyond Auburn, Stanford or Texas. You have impacted the lives of many swimmers around the country, both directly and indirectly. I have a kid who swims in the SEC for another school. I have heard first hand the respect that swimmers and coaches of many schools and swim clubs have for you as an individual and a professional. We all stand behind you with prayer for your battle and in gratefulness for your impact in this world.
