Who   October 30, 2008 at 1:26pm
Can someone please advise me as to who this Alex Schaffer kid is? I believe I see who spoc is talking about coming into the wall and all i know from searching the web is that hes from St. charles and was a fair hs swimmer, 21.1 50, 50.0 fly, but why would he get recruited by Texas then, is he tall, have natural talent, potential? It just dosent make sense to me why a big time program would bring a guy like this in, any answers?

It would be nice to see what they do in the weight room. From my experience lifting hard before a workout kills my swimming. Maybe that's why some of em are really killing it and others are hurting.

I believe the balancing sticks on their backs was one of the best "weight" workouts on here... Good ol Richard Quick and posture. Obviously it works alright if Cesar is the olympic and NCAA champ..

I have a lot of respect for eric friedland now...I always get so sick of people who get out during a set and pretend to throw up in the garbage can or the people who stand near the garbage can because they think they are going to throw up. It's great to see someone who actually pushes themselves to the point of vomiting and is trying to hold it in. It was also pretty funny to watch, considering it spewed out the sides, HA!

Great end. I like the team cheer post main set. That is an interesting idea especially for newcomers to the team. There is nothing like a unified intimidating cheer for the opponents before a meet.

I would like to see some of the good hs programs and/or other programs. For instance Winston Churchill (Jimmy Feigen's HS) is there. Also no matter what program it is great hearing the coach's speeches.
Some of the top teams at US nationals and the speedo sectional meets would also be interesting to watch. Kansas City Blazers, Nova,Curl Burke Swim Club, Stanford, some top YMCA programs. Just some ideas!
