Oh and I'm sure Richard Quick could explain the cord thing in some cool fashion haha ask him next time you see him! (Posture Line Balance DVD bam!)

Good coverage! I am only posting as Anonymous Coward to convey Anonymous Coward's point.

On a side note with or without fins my head is completely underwater if I attempt to streamline doing that vertical kick...
Also interesting that they are putting the cord up high. Makes perfect sense although it is still changing how the person is swimming either way. Probably best way would be to attach the cord to the neck or front of the head like a muzzle on a dog, I could almost guarantee that doesn't affect buoyancy... although maybe human rights...?

i agree with no

its weird how college swimmers find the easy way out, but swim the fastest
No posted November 19 at 11:28pm.
I disagree with Yes
Bandit posted November 19 at 11:23pm.
No I amnot saying college kids are lazy in the state of AZ, I do not coach there. I am saying college kids look for the easy way out everywhere.

TUNES posted November 19 at 10:41pm.
Great spirit to the tunes. bet the swimmers which they could hear them during some of the workouts. Seems like music would help the duration be less painful. Thanks for the coverage.

I want to see a Michigan workout too. And please include Josh White.

I think everyone should stop being so harsh here on flo swimming. this site is awesome and keep the workouts coming! It's nice to see ASU on here. And their workout is very different ...I like it! Thanks Garrett.

I dont care if they did have fins and paddles, 50 no-breathers suck no matter how you do them.

Bandit - are you saying college kids at Arizona are lazy?
Bandit posted November 19 at 11:14am.
Having been through getting cut this summer, and losing most of there team to transfers and what not, I really think this program has the potential to do great things. Xavier Mohammed(GBR) coming in at semester, just signed Caleb Veazey for next year. I don't see why they wouldn't be able to become a contender in the PAC-6 these next 5 yrs.

Yes, Anonymous Coward smaller faster kicking would work your legs more but most college kids just don't do that. They want to go as fast as possible with as little work as possible. You can yell at the to kick faster all you want, but you can't get in the water and do it for them. Great post by "Fins"!
Button posted November 19 at 11:04am.
stretch cords, vertical kicking, hypoxic sets, monofins...looks like they copied that powerhouse bay city h.s. program from a few years back.
GC posted November 19 at 10:32am.
I agree with Anonymous Coward on this one.

Did i just write that?
:)
Just messin' Anonymous Coward is one of the best "comment-ers" on this site. Agree or not you can't argue with the reasoning.
Honeybunny posted November 19 at 10:27am.
Small kicks with fins is the essential way to do it, not to kick with the way you feel like doing which is the big ones...
Anonymous Coward posted November 19 at 9:32am.
Maybe you should just kick faster to increase the tempo of the kick with fins, then see if it works the leg muscles.
Fins posted November 19 at 8:21am.
personally, i never felt that fins worked the leg muscles for kicking the way people think/intend. kicking with fins slows down tempo and you're unable to have the same beats per stroke cycle. false sense of confidence in your kicking ability, as well! i DO love fins in full stroke swimming during practice to help go at race pace and better!!
GC posted November 19 at 7:45am.
Why do you think they "don't kick with fins too often?"
Anon posted November 19 at 6:10am.

i wish i did stuff like this everyday
