Eric ShanteauPutting it in PerspectiveJuly 12, 2008 One week before the US Olympic Trials, Eric Shanteau was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He still qualified for the team in the 200 Breast and he's not letting the bump or "mountain," in the road stop him from finishing out his Olympic dream.

I think that everyone in USA Swimming is supporting you. Plus, if history is any indication, athletes who recover from testicular cancer go on to even greater feats afterwards.
Shanteau - amazing in how someone can handle something like this with such poise. Where he is in his situation ready to say that he is willing to be a face for cancer is amazing.
Nothing is more amazing though to see how someone can have that much mental strength to achieve what he did while going through what he has had to go through.
