That gold is his.
I sent an email to PBS History Detectives to find out where the metal is today? It's probably in the Olympic museam in Lausanne Switzerland.
This situation needs to more public attention to reverse what happened.
The DVD," Negative Split", was a great start.
PS I couldn't even sleep last night.

Some Floswimming archived videos need to resurface just because they're great and pure inspiration...

Rick DeMont should be on the automatic rotation.

for a great example of "Negative Splits" - Rick Demont winning the 1972 Olympic Gold Medal in the 400 free. Rick was in 8th place after the first 100, 5th place after 200, 3rd place after 300, and 1st place at the finish. He was the best in the world in the 1500 free in the 1970's too!

Negative Split

Rick was the first swimmer to apply the track race approach of negative splitting a swim race.
