It is to baad that you didn't win gold. I am a huge fan because we may be related. I am on a swim team to and it would be cool to have a USA swim cap with the name Hersey on it. You are still young and have a chance to win gold in four years. Don't give up!

Katherine Johnson here. Remember when you came to my pool every week or so and taught me and my sister to swim. You were the best swim teacher ever. I wish that I had seen you in the halls at school, because if i had I would have said hi. Thanks for everything, and good luck!

Once upon a long-ago visit to your home, I remember when, out of the goodness within you, you gave me a beautiful pencil. I still have it. You know, I thought it a wonderful reminder of my trip. But WATCHING YOU ON TV, SWIMMING IN THE OLYMPIC GAMES, and being able to say, I KNOW HER . . . . Now that is the best gift of all! God bless every muscle in your body and moment you've spent working up to this. Now, JUST LET IT FLY, KATHLEEN! I'll be screaming my lungs out! And I promise that I shall never ever sell that pencil on e-Bay, not even now that YOU'RE FAMOUS.
